# Limitations

> What Quotes & Order Forms does not do. Read this before building a workflow around the feature.

Know these boundaries before building your sales process on the feature. None are final: we iterate based on customer feedback. If one blocks your workflow, [tell us](mailto:hello@getlago.com).

**Premium feature.** Requires a premium license with quotes enabled. [Contact us](mailto:hello@getlago.com) to get access.

**Approval is internal.** Quotes are approved inside Lago, by your own team. No customer-facing approval step.

**Lago does not handle signatures.** Order forms are signed outside Lago (DocuSign, Concord, email), then marked as signed in Lago. The signed file upload is for record-keeping only.

**Lago does not send emails.** You download the PDF and send it yourself. No public link.

**One currency per quote.** Every block uses the quote's currency. You cannot mix currencies in one quote.

**Amounts are tax-exclusive.** Taxes are calculated later, at invoicing.

**No native CRM sync.** No built-in Salesforce or HubSpot integration for quotes.

**No backdated invoicing.** A past start date creates the subscription at that date, but past periods are not invoiced.

**Overrides follow subscription rules.** You can only override what is already overridable when assigning a plan.

**One pricing block per quote.** One plan, or one set of add-ons for one-off quotes. An amendment covers one plan on one subscription.

**Discounts and credits are for subscription quotes.** One-off quotes cannot include coupons or prepaid credits. At most 5 credit blocks per quote.

**Approved means locked.** To change an `approved` version, void its order form (which voids the version) and duplicate a new draft. Duplicating voids all previous versions.

**Order forms are immutable.** No editing. Expired or voided order forms void their quote version.

**Orders are permanent.** No voiding, no cancelling, one execution. Undoing happens at the billing layer: subscription termination, credit notes.

**One signed file per order form.** A single PDF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG under 10MB. Upload is no longer possible once the order is executed.
